New Hampshire Monarchs standout
forward Alex Gacek of the Eastern Junior Hockey League has
committed to play for the Bullies Junior Major this spring/summer. Gacek, a
4/6/1993 birth currently leads the New Hampshire Monarchs Jr. A team in scoring
with 33 goals, 28 assist for 61 points in 40 games. Alex was also select to
attend USA Hockey's National 40 Camp to compete for a spot on the NTDP
Under-17 team in Ann Arbor last March. Alex joined USA's Under-17 team in the 2010 Vlad Druzilla tournament finishing as the
teams leading scorer just last month. Alex is committed to play for Miami-Ohio University (CCHA-Div 1) in
2011. Miami is currently ranked the 2nd best Division 1 college hockey
team in the country. Alex is also projected as a top three round NHL Draft pick for 2011. Alex played
his prep school hockey for the Governor's School (ISL Div. 1) where he recorded
18-17-35 pts in '08-09 before leaving joining the NH Monarchs in the Eastern
Junior this season.
